From concept to launch and beyond
Background
I joined the team in September with the eventual launch of Aura 2nd generation consumer product in November 2017. The entire Out of Box (OOB) experience required complete design and development as well as a late directive to redesign the home screen prior to launch.
What I Did
- Designed and remotely tested the OOB experience and home screen to accommodate technical constraints; Achieved 93% setup success rate in the previous 90 days
- Conducted research interviews with users post-launch to evaluate the design, learn about purchase motivations, and understand both met and unmet needs of customers
- Facilitated design ideation with internal engineering and product colleagues to align customer needs with the strengths of the technology and reduce the risk of current limitations
- Collaborated with engineering to design an intuitive live motion visualization with a 4 second reduction in latency (67%)
- Redesigned home screen with intentional use of colour, visual hierarchy of information, and validated interface designs to meet user needs and demonstrate the strength of our solution
Impact
Achieved a 93% setup success rate and reduced motion visualization latency by 67% (4 seconds), significantly improving the user experience and product adoption.
